Why Tie Dye and Flannel?

OK, so it’s been a while since we’ve posted a blog. I feel terrible, but it was for very good reasons. We just released Tie Dye and Flannel and are working on the next big novel, which we hope you all will enjoy just as much as our past novels.

But!!! We are here today to talk about the old tie dye and flannel name. Why did we come up with this and who the heck are these ladies we are having you meet way back in the 80s? I know some of you know exactly what I’m talking about. I know some of you are tried and true flannel wearing members of dyke nation…I also know there are some that squeee like I do when you find an awesome bit of exploded rainbow splattered in a ridiculously day glow pattern on a shirt. Now, I’m not going to make any broad generalizations of type…”A” does this and “B” does this, but the idea of a Tie Dye type falling for a Flannel just struck me as fun!  Best of all? We got to use characters you already know and love. You see, we listen to all of you, and when a secondary character or set of characters get your love, we want you to see more of them. Stacie and Maria are one of those couples. Older, well-established…in their late 50s and helping the next generation navigate the big wide world just by showing us that you can survive and thrive even amidst the adversity of the universe.  But were they so cool and calm and collected back when they were young and working it out for themselves? How did they get so wise and, well, so damn cute together?

That brought us to the next idea. Throw back Thursday was just not enough. After being inundated with pic after pic of happy, smiling faces framed by beautifully crafted mullets, the nostalgia of the 80s rolled over me like that old Bug with bad breaks….we had to do it…had to!! And so, Tie Dye and Flannel was born. Stacie and Maria are in their 20’s and just meeting. Two polar opposites like you would never believe, and yet they find a common ground and a way to make it work….maybe…or do they?? Of course they do! That doesn’t mean there won’t be fun, frolic, and yes a bit of drama and adversity along the way, but won’t it be fun to follow them through the years?

Please say it will!

Peace out, ladies…and enjoy your holidays.
